Students may conduct program evaluation, policy research, grant writing, and other activities as jointly agreed upon with their community partners. PCLP projects provide students with opportunities for dialogue, research, and service in their selected community. Learn more here.Īt the end of this independent study, students will be better able to apply classroom learning to real-world community and public policy challenges, develop new perspectives through engagement with diverse community members, and make an impact on the community. Students enrolled in the independent study work collaboratively in a hybrid capacity. This fall, PCLP students are partnering on projects with Flint City Councilwoman Tonya Burns UM-Flint Office of Economic Development Detroit City Councilwoman Santiago-Romero Planet Detroit and the City of Hamtramck, MI’s Community and Economic Development Department.
